8 billion dollars in a bond issue that will will mature in 2025, with the issue 20% more than initially planned, the electric car maker said late Friday.
The Palo Alto-based company said last week that it was planning to issue 1.5 billion dollars in senior notes.
It said the proceeds are intended to strengthen its balance sheet over this period of rapid scaling with the launch of Model 3, in addition to general corporate purposes.
