Starbucks: sells Evolution Fresh juices to Bolthouse Farms
(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday evening Starbucks announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to sell its premium juice brand Evolution Fresh to Bolthouse Farms.
The coffee company said that the deal will enable it to focus on its core business, while offering Evolution Fresh the opportunity to accelerate its growth trajectory.
Bought in 2011 for 30 million dollars, Evolution Fresh specialises in making cold-pressed organic fruit and vegetable juices.
The sale, whose terms were not revealed, should be completed by the end of the year.
Starbucks says that it plans to continue distributing Evolution Fresh products at its US outlets.
