P&G: former American Express CEO to leave board
(CercleFinance.com) - Kenneth Chenault, the former boss of American Express, will retire from the boards of directors of IBM and Procter & Gamble next year, both companies announced on Thursday.
Chenault will retire from the IBM board, effective 13 February, after more than 20 years of presence, the IT giant said.
The business executive has also notified P&G of his decision to retire from the company's board on 13 February, the consumer group said.
P&G said Chenault made his decision "in order to allow more time to focus on a range of activities in the next phase of his life."
Chenault has been the CEO and chairman of American Express from 2001 until 2018.
