Priceline: EU authorises acquisition of Momondo.
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has unconditionally authorised Priceline Group's acquisition of Momondo Group.
It concluded that the transaction would not raise competition concerns in the European Economic Area.
The Commission assessed the impact of the proposed transaction on the markets for the operation of meta-search sites within the European Economic Area.
It also examined a number of vertical relationships arising from the activities undertaken by the merging companies in the operation of meta-search sites and, downstream, in the operation of online travel agencies.
