Pfizer: positive results from booster dose
(CercleFinance.com) - Pfizer and BioNTech announce positive initial results from a Phase 3 randomised controlled trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of a 30 μg booster dose of their Covid-19 vaccine in over 10,000 people of 16 years old and above.
The company said that a booster dose given to people who had already received two doses restored vaccine protection to levels achieved after the second dose, showing a relative vaccine efficacy of 95.6% compared to those who did not receive a booster.
Also claiming a favourable safety profile, they plan to submit this data to the FDA, EMA and other regulatory agencies to further support approval in the US and other countries.
