Pfizer: raises dividend by 6%, shares up
(CercleFinance.com) - Pfizer, the world's biggest drugmaker, raised its quarterly dividend by 6% on Monday, sending its shares up by almost 3% in early trading.
The US biopharma company said that it will increase its fourth-quarter dividend to 38 cents from 36 cents per share, reflecting its "continued confidence" in its business and pipeline.
Regarding its pipeline, Pfizer has also announced plans to host an investor day on 31 March, at which it will provide updates on its R&D pipeline, specifically on product candidates with blockbuster potential that are expected to be launched by 2025.
The shares are currently up 2.8%, making them the biggest winner on the Dow Jones Industrial Average index.
