C. Penney on Thursday named a director from the media industry who has been elected on its board. Wonya Lucas, is also currently the CEO of Public Broadcasting Atlanta.
"Wonya has an impressive background that spans brand management and corporate and media strategy, and has been responsible for creating some of television's most highly acclaimed viewer programming," the US department store operator said.
JCPenney said the executive is "highly regarded" for her mass communications and broadcasting leadership, her knowledge of digital content, and distribution drive consumer behavior.
Wonya has already held positions at Discovery Communications, Coca-Cola and Clorox.
