Oracle: appeals Department of Defense procurement deal

(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Oracle filed a notice of appeal regarding the so-called "JEDI" procurement, a giant contract issued by the Department of Defense to obtain cloud computing services.

The Californian enterprise software maker said it still believes "the procurement was unlawful on several grounds".

More specifically, Oracle argues that the terms of the deal "unduly restrict competition" because they exceed the agency's needs and that the agency failed to consider potential conflicts of interest related to the procurement.

The controversial multi-billion-dollar deal has been accused of favoring Amazon.

IBM also filed its own protest, challenging different aspects of the JEDI procurement.
