Omnicom: Europe buoys first-quarter earnings
(CercleFinance.com) - Ad giant Omnicom said that profit and revenue rose in the first quarter, mainly helped by strong demand in Europe and, to a lesser extent, Asia Pacific.
The home to agencies like TBWA, BBDO, and DDB said that its net income for the first quarter of 2018 increased by 9% to 264.1 million dollars, from 241.8 million dollars in the first quarter of 2017.
Omnicom's revenue in the first quarter increased 1.2% to 3.6 billion dollars.
Organic growth reached 9.7% in the Euro markets and the rest of Europe, 7.3% in Asia-Pacific, while North America decreased by 0.1%.
The CRM division was the most dynamic, with growth reaching 6.9%
A weaker dollar also helped, with a positive foreign exchange rate impact of 4.2% over the quarter.
