Nvidia: Yamaha picks AI platform for autonomous machines
(CercleFinance.com) - Japan's Yamaha has selected Nvidia's AI kit as the development tool to power its next-generation autonomous machines, the US graphics chipmaker said on Thursday.
The Japanese manufacturer plans to make "Jetson AGX Xavier" platform the brain for a broad portfolio of intelligent machines, including unmanned agriculture vehicles, last-mile vehicles and marine products, Nvidia said.
Yamaha is one of many industrial manufacturers that have chosen to begin using the system, it said.
Equipment makers, such as FANUC, Komatsu, Musashi Seimitsu and Kawada have said that they plan to adopt Jetson AGX Xavier in their next-generation autonomous machines.
Nvidia estimates that AI will grow into a 20 billion dollar industry over the next five years.
