Nvidia: flurry of announcements for auto sector before CES
(CercleFinance.com) - US chipmaker Nvidia made several announcements on Sunday, two days before the Consumer Electronics Show officially kicks off in Vegas.
Unsurprisingly, the group's attention is now largely focused on the automotive sector.
Speaking to a crowd of nearly 1,000 people yesterday, Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang announced that the company is currently collaborating with 320-plus partners on self-driving.
He explained how Nvidia is collaborating with German auto giant Volkswagen on artificial intelligence features for the new iconic MicroBus.
Huang said that Uber has selected Nvidia's technology for the AI computing system in its fleet of self-driving vehicles, while the firm will also work with China's Baidu to create a production-ready AI autonomous vehicle platform based on its Xavier autonomous-machine processor.
