News Corp: fourth-quarter exceeds estimates

(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday evening News Corp posted a fourth-quarter net loss of 355 million dollars, suffering from heavy depreciation that is mainly related to the merger of Foxtel and Fox Sports Australia.


The media and publishing group thus announced a net loss of 64 cents per share, although when adjusted for extraordinary items, it EPS reached eight cents, compared to 11 cents a year ago, although this beat the consensus by two cents.

Ebitda of segments increased 45% to 312 million euros, for revenues that are up 29% at 2.69 billion dollars, thanks to the integration of Foxtel, as well as growth progression of digital book publishing and property services.
