News Corp.: exceeds expectations in Q4.

(CercleFinance.com) - News Corp.
reported a net loss of 74 cents per share in Q4, compared with EPS of 15 cents a year earlier. However, in adjusted terms, EPS reached 11 cents, hence beating the consensus of eight cents.

The media group, which owns the Wall Street Journal and HarperColllins, saw its quarterly revenues fall by nearly 7% to 2.08 billion dollars, including an 8% decline in advertising revenues.

Over the full-year, News Corp made a loss of 1.27 dollar per share, although recorded adjusted EPS that was down 10% at 36 cents on sales that fell 2% to 8.14 billion dollars.
