Moderna: US orders 100m new vaccine doses
(CercleFinance.com) - Moderna has announced that the US government has ordered an additional 100 million doses of its Covid mRNA vaccine, bringing its total commitment to 300 million doses.
To date, Moderna has supplied 41 million vaccine doses to the US, with over 22 million people having already received the vaccine.
Moderna also says it is on track to deliver the 100 million doses in the first quarter of 2021, as well as the second order for 100 million doses in May 2021.
The company reports that it has received a total of 631.5 million committed orders, including the US (300m), the European Union (160m), Japan (50m), Canada and Republic of Korea (40m), Switzerland (13.5m), Colombia (10m), UK (7m), Israel (6m), Taiwan (5m).
In addition, Moderna has announced that the Qatar Ministry of Public Health has issued an emergency use licence for its mRNA vaccine, based on he scientific evidence shared by the company.
