Microsoft: wins cloud deal from Halliburton

(CercleFinance.com) - Microsoft said that it has won a deal on the competitive field of "cloud" computing, signing an agreement with US oil-field services giant Halliburton, which will move to its digital platforms.

Under the agreement, Halliburton will go through real-time platforms for expanded remote operations, while improving analytics with the use of Microsoft's machine learning and artificial intelligence.

The company will also accelerate the deployment of new technology and applications, including for system reliability and security.

The agreement also covers the migration of Halliburton's physical data centers to Azure, Microsoft's enterprise-grade cloud service.

IT consulting firm Accenture will work with Microsoft to help transition Halliburton's digital ressources and business applications to Azure.
