Microsoft: Windows 10 now equips 900 million devices
(CercleFinance.com) - Yusuf Mehdi, vice president of Microsoft group, announced on Twitter that Windows 10, the latest operating system of the US software giant, now equips over 900 million devices worldwide.
Windows 10 was launched in 2015: Yusuf Mehdi says that it has seen its strongest growth over the past 12 months.
The symbolic threshold of one billion devices should also be reached quickly: Windows 7 support ends in January and, since the start, users that are still equipped with this version of Windows are alerted by a message on their machines, prompting them to switch to Windows 10. This symbolic figure comes a bit late, with Microsoft wanting to reach it in mid-2018. It had to downscale this aim after Microsoft abandoned the smartphone market.
