Microsoft: shares up after positive broker comments
(CercleFinance.com) - Microsoft shares are up almost 2% on Thursday following positive broker comments about the stock.
In a note to clients, Wedbush Securities said that the US software giant's Azure cloud platform is closing the gap on AWS, Amazon's cloud computing unit.
Wedbush analysts believe Microsoft is poised to win "the lion's share" of the next phase of cloud deployments against the e-commerce giant.
The broker says that Microsoft will get a greater share of complex workloads (AI, machine learning, etc.) as more companies take the leap to a hybrid cloud architecture over the coming years.
Wedbush hence maintains its "outperform" recommendation on the share, with a target price of 160 dollars.
The Microsoft stock was trading up 1.8% at 137.9 dollars in early morning trading on Thursday.
