Marriott: Q4 EPS plunges in midst of pandemic
(CercleFinance.com) - Marriott International has reported adjusted net income of just 39 million dollars for the last three months of 2020, representing EPS of 12 cents, a far cry from the 1.
51 dollar announced the previous year, although pretty much in line with the consensus.
The hotel chain's comparable global RevPar (revenue per available room) collapsed 64.1% at constant dollars (of which -64.6% was in North America), reflecting the heavy impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and efforts to contain it.
"While the current environment remains challenging, we believe our financial condition is strong and we look ahead to the rest of 2021 with optimism," said Leeny Oberg, Marriott's CFO.
