Macy's: new CEO in February 2024

(CercleFinance.com) - Macy's announces that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jeff Gennette plans to retire in February 2024 after 40 years of service to the group, and that Tony Spring, the CEO of its subsidiary Bloomingdale's, has been appointed by the Board of Directors to succeed him then.


As CEO of Bloomingdale's, he contributed to the success of the brand, which generated its highest sales volume and record customer engagement in 2022, Macy's said, adding that Tony Spring will also join its board of directors.

As part of the management transition, the department store chain is also announcing that the responsibilities of its chief financial officer, Adrian Mitchell, have been expanded to include the role of chief operating officer.
