Loews Corp: net loss in Q4
(CercleFinance.com) - Loews Corp, a conglomerate whose businesses range from energy to insurance and hospitality, has published a net loss of 165 million dollars for Q4 2018, or 53 cents per share, compared to EPS of 1.

The group explained that this loss reflects CNA Financial's catastrophe losses, investment results at CNA Financial and the parent company, as well as operating results at Diamond Offshore Drilling.
For FY 2018, Loews Corp reported earnings of 636 million dollars, or 1.99 dollar per share, compared to earnings of 1.16 billion dollars in FY 2017 (3.45 dollars per share).
