Lockheed Martin: new milestone for NGI program
(CercleFinance.com) - Lockheed Martin announced overnight that the US Missile Defence Agency (MDA) has reviewed and approved its Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) systems.
The MDA's NGI program is designed to protect the United States against the complex and malicious threats of ballistic missile attacks.
Lockheed says that it will be the front line of a layered missile defence architecture against evolving threats from rogue states.
The first interceptor is expected to be deployed in 2027.
