KKR: EU clears acquisition of April
(CercleFinance.com) - In March, under EU Merger Regulations, the European Commission has approved the acquisition of April, based in France, by KKR, which is based in the US.
April is an insurance broker specialising in personal insurance in the areas of health and welfare, international health, property protection and loan insurance. Its investments include a majority stake in +Simple, an online broker for professionals active in Germany, Austria, France and Italy.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, given its very limited impact on the structure of the brokerage markets.
