KKR: to sell 50% stake in X-ELIO
(CercleFinance.com) - KKR has announced the sale of its 50% stake in the global renewable energy developer, X-ELIO, to its joint venture partner, Brookfield Renewable Power.
Upon completion of the deal, Brookfield Renewable Power will own 100% of X-ELIO.
X-ELIO develops, builds, finances and operates solar photovoltaic power plants and hydrogen and storage projects around the world.
Since KKR's initial investment in 2015 and Brookfield's acquisition of a 50% stake in 2019, X-ELIO has received investments of over $2bn, resulting in significant pipeline growth and increased development pace.
Since its inception, X-ELIO has built or developed 3 GW of renewable energy projects on five continents.
