J&J: requests Covid vaccine approval in Europe
(CercleFinance.com) - Johnson & Johnson applied for its single-shot Covid-19 to be approved in the European Union, an announcement that brings hope as the EU is having problems rolling out its vaccination campaign.
J&J said that its unit Janssen has submitted a conditional marketing authorisation application to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), seeking approval for its investigational vaccine candidate.
Johnson & Johnson said it stands ready to begin distributing the vaccine within the European Union in the second quarter of 2021.
The company filed for emergency use approval in the United States earlier this month.
