Johnson & Johnson: vaccine deal with EU
(CercleFinance.com) - Johnson & Johnson announces that the European Commission has approved an advance purchase deal through which its subsidiary Janssen will supply 200 million doses of its experimental vaccine for Covid-19, once it is authorised by regulators.
Based on this contract, which concludes the exploratory talks with the Commission, the Member States of the European Union will also have the option for up to 200 million additional doses.
As part of its commitment to fight the pandemic, the group also plans to allocate up to 500 million vaccine doses to lower-income countries, with deliveries to begin mid next year.
