Johnson & Johnson: FDA approves drug for multiple myeloma

(CercleFinance.com) - U.
S. health regulators have approved an antibody from Johnson & Johnson to treat newly diagnosed patients with multiple myeloma who are transplant ineligible.

Janssen's Darzalex has been approved with Takeda's Velcade and prednisone - VMP - for the treatment of patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma who are ineligible for autologous stem cell transplant.

Clinical trials have showed that Darzalex in combination with VMP reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 50 per cent compared to treatment with VMP alone.
