JPMorgan: does not intend to bid for Worldpay.
(CercleFinance.com) - JP Morgan Chase said on Wednesday that it does not intend to make a bid on Worldpay after the British payment processor agreed to merge with its US rival Vantiv.
The New York-based investment bank said it was "at a very early stage in considering whether or not to make an offer" or setting the terms of a potential offer for Worldpay.
Worldpay and its peer Vantiv have just announced that they have reached an agreement in principle on the key terms of a potential merger.
In a short statement, Worldpay said yesterday that it had received preliminary approaches from Vantiv and JPMorgan in relation to a potential acquisition.
