IBM: buys Brazilian software firm WDG Automation
(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday IBM said that it has agreed to buy WDG Automation, a Brazilian software provider of robotic process automation, for an undisclosed sum, as "Big Blue" continues to pursue its development in AI.
By embedding WDG's capabilities into its existing AI automation processes, IBM wants to help businesses to reach a broader access to intelligent automation through software robots, it said.
Rsearch firm IDC predicts that by 2025, AI-powered companies will see a 100% increase in worker productivity.
The deal is expected to be completed in the third quarter.
