IBM: 18 new cloud locations as clients migrate workload
(CercleFinance.com) - IBM plans to expand its cloud capabilities with 18 new locations across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, with clients such as ExxonMobil and Bausch + Lomb migrating workloads to the company's cloud.
ExxonMobil has adopted IBM cloud for a mobile app developed by IBM itself for motorists at over 11,000 Exxon and Mobil gas stations across the US.
Meanwhile, eye health company Bausch + Lomb has chosen IBM for its next-generation cataract surgical system, which will operate from IBM's data centers in Dallas and Frankfurt.
The 18 new locations will be implemented in high demand centers in Europe (Germany and UK), Asia-Pacific (Tokyo and Sydney), and North America (Washington, DC and Dallas, Texas), IBM said.
