Intel: cornerstone laid for Ohio projects
(CercleFinance.com) - Today Intel and US President Joe Biden are scheduled to lay the cornerstone for two new foundries the chipmaker plans to build in Ohio.
These two ultra-modern factories - which are set to represent the cutting edge of the semiconductor sector - are part of the gigantic investment project of more than 20 billion dollars that the Californian group intends to dedicate to this Midwestern state.
This package - which is aimed at the manufacture of advanced components in a region already dubbed the "Silicon Heartland" - will create some 7,000 jobs in construction and 3,000 jobs for workers and engineers.
