Intel: expands partnership with Ford
(CercleFinance.com) - Ford said on Monday that a partnership with Intel's Mobileye unit is expanding to include enhanced collision-avoidance systems.
As part of the "high volume" deal, Ford's new vehicles will use Mobileye's EyeQ computer chips and software to help identify what the windshield camera in a vehicle can see, including lane markings, traffic signs, and other vehicles.
The expanded partnership will also add pedestrian and cyclist detection, along with hands-free driving or the all-new Mustang Mach-E and all-new F-150, Ford said.
The US carmaker said it plans to include Mobileye's logo in its driver-assist displays.
