Intel: Omar Ishrak appointed Board Chairman
(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday evening Intel announced the appointment of Omar Ishrak as Chairman of its board of directors, effective immediately.
Ishrak - who has previously served as an independent director - replaces Andy Bryant, who was board chairman since 2012 and who has decided to step down to facilitate an efficient transition.
Since 2011 Ishrak held the post of Chairman and CEO of medical device specialist Medtronic.
On Tuesday Intel also announced the arrival on its board, of an independent director, Alyssa Henry, a 49-year-old businesswoman who has largely worked with start-ups, and notably worked for Amazon and the mobile payment specialist, Square.
