Intel: extends chairman's tenure until 2020
(CercleFinance.com) - Intel has extended the contract of its chairman Andy Bryant for an additional year, to help support the chipmaker's CEO transition.
If Bryant is re-elected at Intel's 2019 annual shareholders' meeting, his term as chairman would continue until 2020, the Santa Clara-based company company said.
Bryant has informed the board that he does not expect to stand for re-election again in 2020, it said.
The decision comes as as Intel undergoes a transition at a time of substantial business transformation, with CEO Bob Swan having taken over in January.
