HPE: expects to post profit above estimates next year

(CercleFinance.com) - Hewlett Packard Enterprise said its acceleration into an "as-a-service" business is paying off, with the company expecting to post a profit above analysts' estimates for its upcoming fiscal year.

HPE, one of the two companies created by the breakup of former Hewlett-Packard in 2014, said on Thursday it expects non-GAAP diluted net EPS of 1.56 dollar to 1.76 dollar for the upcoming fiscal year through July 2021, up 10% year-over-year.

The consensus, in turn, predicted earnings of 1.46 dollar per share.

Non-GAAP diluted net EPS in the current fiscal year to end-October is still expected to be approximately 1.30 dollar to 1.34 dollar, the company said. By comparison, consensus is 1.32 dollar.

At its virtual analyst meeting yesterday, HPE said it was accelerating its turn into an "edge-to-cloud" platform as-a-service company, committing to deliver its entire portfolio as a service by the end of 2022.
