GE: expands wind turbine blade production in Cherbourg
(CercleFinance.com) - LM Wind Power, a GE Renewable Energy company, today announced the commissioning of a second 107m long wind turbine blade mould at its Cherbourg plant to meet industry demand for offshore wind turbine blades.
In addition, GE Renewable Energy has said that it intends to continue modernising the facilities: the company is planning to extend the site, with the construction of an additional hall dedicated to post-moulding finishing, prior to shipping.
With its 600 employees, the Cherbourg plant became the leading wind turbine blade manufacturing site in France when it opened in April 2018.
