GE: names CEO John Flannery as board chairman.
(CercleFinance.com) - GE said on Monday that it has named chief executive officer John Flannery as director and chairman of its board, effective immediately.
John Flannery succeeds Jeffrey Immelt, the company's former chief executive, who retired as a director and chairman after concluding that the CEO transition has proceeded "smoothly."
The US giant also said that Jeff Immelt has retired as a director and chairman of the board of GE unit Baker Hughes, and that Lorenzo Simonelli, chief executive officer of Baker Hughes GE (BHGE), has been elected to succeed him.
