Ford: invests $700m in Kentucky

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford Motor Company has announced a 700 million dollar investment in its Kentucky plant, an operation that should eventually generate some 500 jobs in the state.

Ford has been growing in Kentucky since the days of the Model T, and continues to invest in the state to produce great vehicles, the company said.

Sensitive to this investment, the state's governor declared today as "KenTRUCKy Day" as Ford will be showcasing its all-new "F-Super Duty" series at Churchill Downs (a racetrack in the state's capital city of Louisville) yesterday evening.

However, little market reaction - indeed, Ford shares actually closed down 0.7% yesterday.
