Ford: recalls about 28,000 vehicles in North America

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford Motor said that it is recalling over 28,200 vehicles in North America for various safety reasons.

The Michigan-based carmaker said on Friday that the first safety recall is for Ford Taurus, Ford Explorer and Ford Edge vehicles that were made between 2013 and 2015 at its Chicago and Oakville plants.

In certain vehicles, the link shaft bracket may fracture over the long term as a result of certain vehicle vibrations, Ford said, adding that it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problems.

The second rafety recall concerns Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles that were made in 2019, eighteen of which were produced with a driveshaft that may fracture, the carmaker said.

At the moment, Ford is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to this defect.
