Ford: to launch over 30 new vehicles in China
(CercleFinance.com) - Ford plans to launch more than 30 new vehicles over the next three years, of which more than 10 will be electrified, as part of its "transformation" plan in China.
The US carmaker yesterday unveiled an all-new Ford Escape midsize SUV, with a "unique front face designed for China."
At the same time, Ford is aiming to strengthen its partnerships in the country and increase its cooperation with its joint-venture partners Changan and Jiangling, focusing on product, technology and sales development.
The company said that it is also targeting a new brand positioning "that speaks" to Chinese consumers in a rapidly changing technological industry, through accessible smart vehicles and advanced technologies.
Finally, Ford has established a new China management team, including local leaders who have extensive experience in the Chinese automotive sector.
For the record, Ford sales fell by 37% in China last year.
