Ford: US sales fall 3.1% in July

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford announced that it sold 194,026 vehicles in the US last month, down 3.
1% year-on-year - the 10.4% drop in retail sales could not be fully offset by a 25.7% jump in fleet sales.

The Dearborn-based (Michigan) car maker, however, points out that the average price of its transactions rose by 1,200 dollars in July, against a sector-average increase of just 700 dollars.

Together, pickups, vans and SUVs totaled 153,402 vehicle sales, representing a gain of 4.8%, said Mark LaNeve, vice president of US sales, while car sales fell 27.7%.
