Ford: European sales down 2.4% in August.
(CercleFinance.com) - Ford said its car sales fell 2.
4% in Europe in August, despite the continued strength of its sports utility vehicle (SUV) portfolio.
Deliveries in the so-called "Euro 20 markets" decreased to 73,100 cars in the past month, compared with 74,900 units in the same period a year ago, Ford said on Friday.
Ford SUV sales jumped 21.3% to 14,200 in August, driven by strong demand for EcoSport, Kuga and Edge.
But the carmaker saw registrations decline in its key UK market in March, and also posted a decrease in sales in Germany, now its largest European market.
