Ford: 400,000 Transit vans recalled over safety risk.
(CercleFinance.com) - Ford shares are resisting well on Wednesday, despite the US carmaker having announced a recall for approximately 400,000 of its Ford Transit vans.
The company estimates the cost of this action will be 142 million dollars.
The recall came because of a cracked flexible coupling in the affected vehicles, which may cause separation of the driveshaft, resulting in a loss of motive power while driving or unintended vehicle movement when parking.
Ford says it is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue.
Ford shares were up 0.4% at 11.1 dollars in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
