FedEx: to open 500 new locations in Walmart stores
(CercleFinance.com) - FedEx plans to open 500 new locations within Walmart stores over the next 24 months after a successful pilot scheme involving close to 50 supermarkets, the package delivery company said on Tuesday.
The move comes as part of FedEx's plans to expand its retail channel, a network of retail locations offering services such as digital printing, professional finishing, document creation, and corporate print solutions, it said.
The Walmart-based locations will offer customers packing, shipping and printing services, while also enabling them to direct their packages to be held for up to five business days.
The announcement comes after completion of a successful pilot scheme spanning 47 locations across six states, FedEx said.
