ExxonMobil: begins drilling exploration well offshore Guyana
(CercleFinance.com) - ExxonMobil has started drilling an exploration well offshore Guyana, the US oil giant said on Monday.
The move is part of its strategy to prioritize prospects that are close to previous discoveries, it said in a statement.
The Haimara-1 well is located 19 miles (31 kilometres) east of the Pluma-1 discovery in the southeast Stabroek Block.
With at least five vessels, the potential output for the Stabroek block is estimated at over 750,000 barrels of oil per day by 2025.
