Exxonmobil: LNG project in Mozambique

(CercleFinance.com) - ExxonMobil announces that Mozambique Rovuma Venture has submitted a development plan for the first phase of the Rovuma LNG project to the Mozambique government, which will produce, liquefy and market natural gas from the Mamba fields.


The plan details the proposed design and construction of two liquefied natural gas trains that will each produce 7.6 million tonnes of LNG per year, the US oil and gas giant said.

Both parties are expected to make a final investment decision in 2019, for production which is set to start in 2024. Jointly owned by ExxonMobil, Eni and CNPC, Mozambique Rovuma Venture holds a 70% stake in the Zone 4 block concession, where the Mamba fields are found.
