ExxonMobil: Papua New Guinea's LNG resources raised
(CercleFinance.com) - Exxon Mobil's natural gas resources at a field in Papua New Guinea have been almost doubled from a previous estimate made in 2012, the company said on Thursday.
The size of the reserves at the P'nyang field has risen to 4.36 trillion cubic feet of gas, up 84% from a previous assessment calculated in 2012, Exxon said.
The oil giant is now working with partners and the government on a new development concept that would add approximately 8 million tons of LNG annually, doubling the plant's existing capacity.
