ExxonMobil: signs new research agreement with UW-Madison.
(CercleFinance.com) - ExxonMobil has said that it has signed a new two-year agreement with the University of Wisconsin-Madison to research converting biomass into transportation fuels.
The US oil giant said the deal is focused on demonstrating catalytic technologies that are already used in the petrochemicals industry to convert oil into fuels and chemicals.
Over the past two years, the research agreement between the group and the university has focused on converting cellulosic biomass to transportation fuels.
UW-Madison has long been known for its expertise in biomass conversion, ExxonMobil said.
