eBay: buys Giosis division to expand in Japan
(CercleFinance.com) - eBay has said that it has acquired Giosis' Japanese business, including the Qoo10.
jp online marketplace, to expand in one of the largest e-commerce markets in the world.
The company said it will be able to broaden its presence on a "dynamic, underpenetrated market with strong e-commerce potential and high mobile adoption."
eBay already had a stake in Giosis, which runs several localized marketplaces in Asia.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
