DuPont: EU regulator conditionally approves FMC deal.
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has conditionally approved DuPont's acquisition of FMC's health and nutrition business as part as a series of divestment commitments made in the Dow/DuPont merger.
Clearance of the transaction is conditional upon the divestment of DuPont's alginates business, i.e. polymers that are used as stabilising, thickening or gelling agents in food and pharmaceutical products.
As a reminder, DuPont committed to divest major parts of its global crop protection business, including its global research and development organisation, which FMC will acquire in turn.
