Dollar General: Q3 EPS increases 63%

(CercleFinance.com) - Dollar General has reported Q3 EPS that is up 62.
7% to 2.31 dollars (period to end-October), beating the consensus, while its operating profit increased 57.3% to 773.1 million dollars.

At 8.2 billion dollars, the retailer's revenue increased by 17.3%, including a 12.2% increase on a same-store basis, with, according to the company, a significantly positive impact stemming from consumer behaviour due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nevertheless, Dollar General is not providing any targets for revenues or EPS for the fiscal year at this stage, highlighting the lack of visibility due to continued uncertainties regarding the severity and duration of the pandemic.

However, the share is down over 2% in pre-market trading on Thursday.
